Heavy cycles are something that many women unfortunately struggle with. I wholly advocate getting a thorough work up and treatment for the root cause of it, but in the meantime, here is a quick tidbit that can help symptomatically to slow down the flow and reduce cramping. 
Cinnamon! 
Make some energy balls that contain ¼ tsp of cinnamon per ball and eat 1 ball three times per day. You can also drink cinnamon tea using cinnamon sticks or use the essential oil of cinnamon.
